The Woodshire Inn and Cocoa Pesto Bistro are located in the town of Windsor, Nova Scotia. Windsor is the Shiretown of Hants County and this building was for many years known to residents and visitors as The Sherwood Inn. Situated on the Minas Basin of The Bay of Fundy in Atlantic Canada, where two strong rivers meet: the Avon and the St. Croix, Windsor is a community of approximately 3700 residents. The Woodshire was constructed during the mid 1800s at the corner of King Street and Chapel Lane. Over the years, this magnificent building has witnessed many changes to the town and its inhabitants. Windsor is 66 kilometres northwest of Halifax, approximately 20 kilometres from the eastern end of the Annapolis Valley.

The Dominion Atlantic Railway connected Windsor with Halifax, Yarmouth and Truro. In turn, Windsor has facilitated many travelers by rail, water, carriage and automobile amongst ports in New England and throughout the Bay of Fundy. We like to think of ourselves as centrally located on Atlantic Canada’s Coast.
